Saladan
Village
It is the gateway or the first place you will meet whatever you
drive through or take the ferry or minivan to Koh Lanta. Saladan
is the center for trading all activities on the island. Here is
the small town comparing with big city with around hundred shops
but it is the heart of this island. You can find the Bank, Pharmacy,
Health center, Dive School, Tour Agent, Souvenir shop, Food shop
and much more. At the Saladan have the motorbike side car taxi
service can pick and sent you back to your resort everywhere.
Khao
Mai Kaew Cave
A couple of caves are located in the center of the island,
offering a wonder of rocks and caverns and housing the spectacular
stalactites and stalagmites. Some sections in the cave create
a cavern pool that you can swim in. To explore the cave, a guide
is needed; a Muslim family who lives near the trailhead to the
cave offers guide service for 50 Baht per person. The cave is
located off the lower of two cross-island roads, down a narrow
1.5 kilometer-dirt path through the rubber plantation that ends
up at the Muslim home.
Koh Lanta National Park
The southernmost of the island is the high land and be the area
of national park which there is no resort or any development.
The whole area covers with the jungle of palm trees which is the
name of Tanode Cape. There is two km. natural walk trial along
the forest, observing many species of monsoon trees, bird watching
and the variety of jungle life. At the end have two moon curve
beach call Tanode beach and Hin Ngam beach joint together. At
the middle have a light house set up on the hill which it is the
symbolic of Koh Lanta.

Koh
Lanta Old Town
The first and history town of Koh Lanta located on east side of
the island. Over a hundred year ago, here is the center for sea
trading between the local and Chinese Sampan boat. The first Chinese
family started to live here at the time and expand much more to
be the small Chinese town. The old town now you can see the old
Chinese style house on the shore with the atmosphere of relaxing
and peace life of the Chinese people along the two side of the
street. Here is the municipal of Koh Lanta you can found the police
station, Koh Lanta hospital and Thai temple. Sung-Ga-U Village
Sea Gypsy, the first people of Koh Lanta. Sung Ga U is the village
of community of ethnic “Sea Gypsies” or “Chao
Ley” (as they are call in Thai). Distinct from the local
Thai population, these tribal groups whose origins are unknown
still retain their own language and follow their traditional customs.
The floating spirit boat ceremony is one of their traditions,
by setting a boat a drift to drive out evil and bring good luck.
This is done during the full moon in June and November.
Waterfall
At the middle of the island around end of Klong Nin Beach, the
small cannel crossing the main road without bridge, all vehicles
need to drive through this cannel. On the left along the cannel
is the jungle walk way to the small waterfall. Along the way around
half hours under the shadow and humidity of Koh Lanta’s
rainforest jungle, can see many birds, small creature jungle life
and huge trees.
